Our Programs
Our style is supportive, encouraging, and motivational, and I believe that fitness should be fun, challenging, and rewarding.
Caregivers Services
Caregivers are heroes, and we want to help them stay that way. When a member of the family is faced with an event that makes them dependent on another person (the caregiver) for care and daily living tasks, it can cause a variety of problems for the caregiver as well. At Esther’s Place, we recognize the need to also support caregivers so they can keep being the heroes they need to be. For this reason, we provide caregiver support service which allows caregivers to access a range of services at the Hub focused on pain management, physical therapy, education, support groups, information and signposting (when it becomes available), relaxation and de-stress, as well as referrals and access to counselling and mental health interventions, and dietetics among others.
Active Aging
At Esther's Place, we recognise the need for individuals to remain as active, as healthy and as independent for as long as possible after retirement. Many people mistakenly believe that individuals need to start slowing down drastically after retirement, but maintaining enough physical activity is important to keeping elderly people healthy, independent and free from numerous medical bills. It is never too late to start keeping fit and active. We tailor our activity sessions to your underlying conditions, if any, your tolerance level and the goals you want to achieve. With the right level of activity, you can slow down or even reverse some chronic conditions. Stay Active to Stay Well and reduce your hospital bills.
Socialisation
Being socially connected is an important aspect of wellbeing. Because of this, at Esther’s Place, we have socially linked and oriented provision that allows our older adult/elderly clients, using our Hub to develop new and strengthen existing social links and networks by providing the space and facility for clients to use. Our socialization provision is entirely client led, and may be by prior appointment between friends or an impromptu meeting at the Service. Either way, the socialization facility is a perfect way to engage with others, share conversations, support others and get support from others, as well as beat loneliness and isolation while at the same time, being able to access all the other services the Hub offers for health and wellbeing.
